Jackson state forest is fun, semi rugged mixed redwood forest and creeks. Gotta watch out in summer for logging and illegal grows. Mendocino NF isn’t for the faint of heart as it’s very easy to get lost, but it’s a very fun place to hike and forage and hunt.
