The most common reason behind Vtec not engaging , is from a lack of oil pressure to the synchro piston in the rocker arms. This can be cause by the rubber oil ring on the cylinder head that I point out in this video.The engine in the video was an Acura B18C1 GSR.

5/12/2019 · Do these before posting a question about vtec not working: 1) Make sure your driving it.. it won’t crossover in neutral. 2) Make sure oil level and oil pressure are good. 3) Make sure car is at normal operating temperature. 5) Make sure wires/plugs are tight or wired correctly.

4/15/2009 · The car runs fine apart from vtec not engaging . The chip in the ecu has VTP/VTS, temp check, speed check and knock disabled I have tested the tps and thats reading .5v at idle and 4.45v at WOT I am not using a honda gauge cluster in the car. The vtec solenoid clicks when 12v is fed to it Vtec does work if forced using a switch, At lower speeds, the second arm does not engage , so the valves open in a more traditional fashion. 8/3/2014 · Whats up K20 Fam! i recently took my car to get dyno (em2 k20a2 kpro) and the tech came out and said vtec was not engaging so they check oil pressure & vtec signal and all as good. so they decided to pull cams to check pins to make sure the bc cams where installed right…everything so far…
8/29/2004 · If these monitors are not set or you have the obd2 work arround, youll never pass emissions. When I run a emissions test on any 96-2005 Vehicle we no longer use a tailpipe reading due to obd-2. Our machiene plugs directly in the obd2 port under your dash, and it can read how your engine is running by useing the devises listed above.
