I discussed air bags vs WDH with “my hitch guy” to pull the 400 with my 2018 Highlander. He definitely said I needed the WDH and he was right. Unfortunately the combination of the heavy tongue weight of my 2019 400 plus the weight of the hitch itself pretty much maxes out.
5/31/2008 · Airbags vs WDH . We are suiting up our rig for our RS23. At the advice of the Toyota dealer, they said to get Airbags . Ultimate Truck, says airbags is all we need, no WDH . PLEASE CLARIFY. Do we need both? Is one superior to the other? Our TV is rated at 6500 and our RV is at 5700 GVWR.
9/21/2020 · WDH then airbags is what the field rep from Andersen told me at an RV show. He considered the airbags more cosmetic once the WDH was properly setup and the weight it adds to axle is negligible. If it was a lot of weight, you didn’t setup the WDH properly to begin with.
3/25/2018 · 1) Set airbags at min PSI (5 psi for AL1000). 2) Setup WDH per mfr instructions. 3) Make sure to write down rear height. 4) Unhitch and fill airbags to max (35 psi for AL1000s) (AL1000s have to be filled before loading weight, not the case for AL5000 or similar from what I understand). 5) Hitch up with WDH and measure.
4/29/2017 · If your wdh is set up properly you shouldn’t sag much and don’t necessarily need air bags. I added airbags to my tundra because I read a lot about how they improve ride while towing which is true rides much better with wdh and bags.
